PERMANENT MAKEUP - LIPS

Permanent Makeup is a unique service in the beauty industry which includes bespoke applications for your eyebrows, eyeliner and/or lips. PMU is also being used for colour correction on lips and in the paramedical industry, such as areola simulation etc. With Lip PMU we are enhancing the shape and colour of your lips whilst defining them. The pigments used are of high quality and are completely safe to use on the relevant PMU areas. Bi-annual/Annual colour boosts are recommended.
What the process entails:
Kindly note the following: • The PMU therapist may request facial pictures/photos to be sent prior to an appointment. The pictures/photos will be to determine colour, shape, etc., and will only be used for social media/advertising by KelTori should consent be given as per the signed consent form. These pictures/photos are also very important if previous PMU work has been done on the area, as shape and saturation will determine what the next course of action will be. If the area has scar tissue from previous PMU, it might be difficult to implant the pigment, and additional sessions may be required. The old PMU must be very faded. If it is too saturated, then removal is required prior to new pigment being implanted. • KelTori must be made aware of any health conditions that may prevent the client from undergoing permanent makeup procedures, prior to the appointment. Should the client become aware of any health changes, they need to notify KelTori immediately. • The abovementioned health conditions include, but are not limited to, any form of current medication, prior to the appointment. This includes anything used on/near the area, such as lotions, etc. Please see contraindications below.
• Consultation • Cleaning and then mapping (draft of eyebrow/lip shape) will be done prior to the pigment implantation. (This is to ensure both the client and therapist are happy with the shape. The therapist may suggest alternative shapes based on professional opinion. Ultimately we are looking for the shape that best suits the client's face and for the client to be happy.) • Once the shape is agreed upon, a numbing product will be applied to the area, and the pigment will be implanted. • The area will be wiped clean, and aftercare will be applied to the area. You will be provided with aftercare product and instructions for your aftercare. • Book your follow-up appointment (to be within 4-6 weeks after your first treatment).

This could casue colour migration or poor colour retenetion. • Retinol/Retin-A must be stopped at least 4 weeks prior to the procedure. • Do not take aspirin/niacin/vitamin E/omegas and/or Ibuprofen at least 3 days prior to your procedure, i.e., aspirin products can cause unnecessary bleeding during your procedure, which then leads to a more faded result. • Refrain from use of any Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA) products, Vitamin A, glycolic acids, exfoliation close to the area 2 weeks prior (and avoid area after procedure). • No waxing around the area atleast 2 weeks prior to the appointment. • Any antibiotic course should be finished 3 days prior to the procedure. Please inform the PMU Therapist should antibiotics be taken, and the reason thereof, for an informed decision to be made whether the procedure can be done as scheduled or whether the procedure date needs to be postponed for the required healing process of the procedure. • No Wax/tweeze/thread for 3 days prior to the procedure. • No alcohol, caffeine, or exercise 24 hours prior to the procedure. This is to minimize bleeding and swelling. • No intense treatments, including but not limited to chemical peels, dermabrasions and mesotherapy, for 4 weeks before the brow procedure. • If you never had coldsores we do recommend taking a oral vitamin supplement for 2 weeks prior to the appointment and 2 weeks after. Should you be prone to coldsores you will need to get a script medication from you doctor and take as prescribed. KelTori will not be liable for any coldsore outbreaks.
TO ENSURE A RELAXED, CALM & HYGIENIC ENVIRONMENT:
• No pets are permitted. • No additional guests are permitted. • Please keep in mind that the procedure is done on the face and we want the best possible outcome. Therefor we require minimal unnecessary movements like phone usage/reading or anything that makes the head move excessively/facial expressions. This is only to ensure that we maintain the desired shape as mapped, whilst implanting the pigment. Remember that we use many facial muscles whilst busy with the smallest of tasks and these muscles pull the skin in different directions. • Try to minimize face make up application prior to each procedure. This allows for more time of the session to be allocated to the consultation, application of topical aneasthetics, mapping and the actual procedure. Not to mention it is better for hygiene and infection control. IMPORTANT INFORMATION: The colour outcome/results may vary slightly due to the undertone of your skin, medication, previous PMU, any underlying health conditions, lifestyle, and environmental changes, hormones, smoking etc. In most cases a touch up is required 4-6 weeks after the initial procedure to reinforce any faded areas. Everyone heals differently, after the first treatmentthe colour might fade up to 50% -60%
AFTER-CARE
