FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

1. What is Permanent Makeup (PMU), microneedling, and dermaplane?

Please refer to the "Our treatments" list at the top of the screen.

2. How long do the treatments take?

Permanent Makeup - The first treatment may take 2-3 hours. The follow up usually takes 1 -1.5 hours.
Microneedling – Usually takes anywhere between 15 minutes to 1.5 hours, per session, depending on the size of the area treated. The face alone takes  45min - 1 hour.
Dermaplane – Each session takes approximately 30 minutes to 1 hour.

3. Do we offer mobile services?

We pride ourselves on wanting the best for our clients and ensuring the best healed results while keeping your safety in mind. Your work area and equipment are sanitized between every session, and we need a sterile environment. Sterility and safety are very important to us at KelTori. Additionally, we aim to keep our prices affordable for our clients. Providing mobile services would more than double our fees as it would have to include travel time and fuel, setting up, and packing up time, not to mention possible distractions at the client's venue. It is best for the therapist to have their full focus on their work to provide the best of themselves and their work. Given the above, a mobile service is convenient; however, for the reasons mentioned, we do not offer mobile services.

4. Microblading vs. Micropigmentation

Micropigmentation is a more advanced method that is not as harsh on the skin as microblading. We prefer using a digital machine to create the same effect as microblading rather than the actual microblading technique, which involves making little incisions in the skin that could create scarring. The machine technique can be touched up over and over, whereas with microblading, making incision upon incision is not ideal and is damaging to the skin. It also becomes much more difficult to get the pigment into the skin.

5. What can I expect during my appointment?

Upon booking, you will receive information regarding pre-care and contraindications, also available on our website. It is important to ensure you are a candidate for the treatment. Upon arrival, there will be a consultation. We will go through all the relevant information, contraindications, aftercare, and any questions you may have.

6. Is PMU the same as tattooing?

The principle of implanting pigment into the skin is the same, however, there are many differences, such as specially formulated pigments used for PMU, different machine types to create different and more natural results, depths of the pigment implanted, needle sizes, and many more.

7. What is the healing time of treatments?

Every person heals differently. PMU usually looks healed within 1-2 weeks, but microscopically, it takes 4-6 weeks for our skin to completely heal, which is why we do not do touch-ups prior to 4 weeks. After the treatment, it will look very bold; within the first week, it will start flaking and then possibly look super light. After this, it will gradually re-appear as the skin heals more. Microneedling: The skin may appear red and possibly a little swollen for the first 24-48 hours. Dermaplaning: The skin may appear a little red for the first 24 hours.

8. Prices of our treatments

Our prices are specifically ranged to be affordable to our clients while using high-quality products specially formulated for the specific treatments. We pride ourselves on our safety for each client and sterility, and therefore, we do NOT reuse needles, blades, etc. More than 80-90% of what we use per treatment is disposed of. The high-quality products, duration of treatment (including consultation), sterilization, and environment we provide are all taken into account. Not to mention that we pride ourselves on being certified with qualifications that are done via in-depth hands-on training (not an online short course) to provide our clients with the best possible service.

9. How long does PMU last?

We aim to implant a color that complements your natural skin and hair color. Various factors influence how long your PMU lasts, including the type and/or color of pigment used. Some colors fade slower than others. Generally, it lasts 2-3 years, but we recommend an annual or bi-annual touch-up to "freshen up" the look and give that color a boost.

10. Is it painful?

For our PMU and microneedling treatments, we apply high-quality anesthetic products before and during the procedures to ensure you are comfortable. The sensation may vary from person to person; some may feel nothing at all, while others may experience a slight tingling sensation. It's important to note that you may be more sensitive during your menstrual cycle.
